Monday

Hi honey,

Sure was good to talk to you last nite but that cold sure worries me. If it doesn’t get better soon you’d better see Dr. Pawle in a hurry, no fooling!

Have just come back from the house and here’s the latest:

A: They can’t give us a definite date until next Monday, however it looks like Friday or Sat the 23rd or 24th.

B: They are laying the floor now – then it needs painting and wood finishing and final plumbing fixtures. This is about 7 days work but since they are working all houses at once, they aren’t in one house full time – so Bill is figuring 10 days.

C: the driveway goes in this week – probably tomorrow or Wed. Everything else is ready. House numbers will be assigned Wed.

I am to see Bill Monday for a final date then will call you Monday nite with a definite date. Also will make arrangements with transportation for furniture, all gas and power people and telephone.

It’s the home stretch and will be close but I think we’ll be ok now. Don’t worry about it – we can’t rush it any faster – everyone is after Bill for a date but I honestly think he’s doing all he can to get everyone in as soon as possible.

Miss you all like crazy – wish I could see Jimbo walking. Tell Chuckie I’m sorry I can’t make it next weekend but we’ll get together and have some fun together as soon as we’re in our house. I can hardly wait.

Had a fine time with Bev and Jack – even enjoyed the beach but that Jack is a madman driving through Boston. My heart was in my mouth most of the time. Don’t tell him I said so though.

Be good children for just a little while longer and Daddy will be there for all of you.
