*****NOTE: Gma’s handwriting is TERRIBLE. No wonder she always used a typewriter. Bear with me; some of this letter is more scribble than actual words.

Dear Nannie,

I haven’t had a real chance to write any letters yet, I’ve been so busy, but I thought I’d squeeze one in to you tonight between my speech for public speaking class that I have to write and correcting my English theme. I got B on my theme and I wrote on Maine. We had to write about our state, so not having a state I could claim my own, and not caring to well to write about Washington D.C., I wrote about my foster home, Maine, and how you awaken to the rooster’s crow and fell asleep with the Whippoorwill’s call. Sounds screwy, doesn’t it? But she gave me B so I’m not complaining.

Besides Public Speaking and English, I take French 4, Zoology, Sociology and hygiene (and gym, of course). Today our sociology prof. let us out early because, he informed us, his wife had a son this morning and he hadn’t seen it yet – So I say, yea, yea to all babies of professor’s wives and may there be more and more every day!

Thanks for sending my jacket back. I use it a lot over here. It gets quite cool at night.

When are you coming down? I can hardly wait to show you the college grounds. Aunt Irene is here this week and she’s coming over Wednesday to see the campus.

Love,

Sibyl
