Fireworks (greeting card) – 2 June 1998

Dear Shon and Gary,

What a party! Thanks! I think I had more fun than anybody.

I can just imagine how hard you all worked on the video. It is so special. Thanks for making so many copies so Mumu and Aud can enjoy it, too.

There is no thanks to thank enough.

Love,
Sibyl (Mom) – that one.

Dear Sharon!

In this post card you see the hotel in my town Beer-sheva. In this hotel the tourists eat there meals. The hotel called in Hebrew: (insert Hebrew here!)

(In English: The house of the peoples.)

Queen 1989 – 22 Apr 1989

Dear Mary,

We were in St Paul’s today and Joe thought you would appreciate this picture. I’m not sure if it was because it’s sure a good one of H.M. or the good stuff she’s wearing! What is it anyway? Blue zircon, topaz?

We went to see Swedish treasure at the Royal Academy. Battle gear, costumes and some jewelry. Could not figure out the large dull white stones. A fellow viewer claimed they were diamonds unfaceted. We find prices are expensive with our shrinking dollar. We are walking a lot and our room is on the 3rd floor, 58 steps up. So we are weary but getting exercise! We want to go to the war rooms tomorrow after we’ve been to Portobello Rd. Meet a friend for supper Sunday early. We have us the Really Big Adventure.

Cheerio,

Love

Harbour Town – 25 Jan 1985

Hilton Head Island, SC

Dear Sibyl and Rawlings

This year we lucked out – well almost – we have NO rain. Lots of sun and really only 3 days of cold weather. Sun was 3 degrees – that IS COLD! It only lasted a short time – June called and said VA Beach had snow sleet and 0 degree weather – all schools closed.

We went walking on the beach today – it was great.

I have done up all the shops – they have such pretty ones. I bought a winter shirt and sweater and a summer dress – all ½ price.

They had a quilt show that we took in – they really had some beautiful ones – very old and new.

Hi to everyone

Love,
Charlotte

Dallas/Fort Worth Airport - 14 Oct 1994

October 14, 1994

Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport
DFW Airport Police, Fire-Rescue Paramedics
DFW Airport
Dallas, TX 75261

Dear Rescue Squad and your BOSS:

On Friday, October 7, 1994, while in an airplane on my way to DFW Airport, my tongue swelled until I could not talk. Delta called you and four of you delivered me in your ambulance to Irving Memorial Hospital.

Everyone connected with your squad was so very kind and thoughtful. I had never been in an ambulance before, nor had we been to Dallas/Fort Worth before. And I certainly had never heard of a tongue swelling so much there was no room in my mouth for all of it. So I looked particularly ridiculous – and no one laughed! Once we were in the ambulance, one person set an IV, another took my blood pressure, someone spoke to the doctor at the hospital. Another person helped put our suitcases aboard the ambulance (a job that was over and above the call of duty): my husband was allowed to ride up front – and away we went.

All of you acted professionally. I was impressed, as was my husband. It’s horrible to be ill in a strange city and you were so very kind to the both of us. I know it’s all a part of your job, but I am most grateful.

I was glad I had a list of my medications with me and in the end, the doctor felt that I had an allergy to my hypertension pill, Prinivil, because it is an ACE inhibitor and I also have asthma. Since my son is a firefighter-paramedic for the City of San Bernadino Fire Dept in California, he tells me he seldom hears the end of the story and I wanted you to know. We’re back home now. We had a grand weekend in Fort Worth and enjoyed seeing our friends, thanks to you.

Bless you all,

Sibyl G. Beaumont

Dear Ms. Beaumont,

Thank you for taking the time to share your observation of Corporals Gary Cunningham, Jeff Morris, George Smithwick and Pam Roach, and for commending their efforts on your behalf. Your comments are truly appreciated by our officers, and the members of our Staff who supervise their work. Your letter, which recounts a professional service to the airport community, will be considered in their annual employee review and become part of their permanent personnel files.

Thanks again for sharing your experience. I am glad to hear that you recovered and were able to enjoy your visit to Fort Worth.

Sincerely,

Alvy J. Dodson, Asst Director

Dear Bill,

We just finished our 72-day wonder! Came through really fabulous countryside yesterday, but the driving took us all day to go the 100 miles! The local busses which we had to transfer to because of the narrow, winding mountain roads were not the most comfortable, but the drivers were super. Please thank your parents for the newsy letters here. Will write them later.

US Capitol Building (Greeting card) – 30 May ??

Dear Chuck

Congratulations for being among the top students contesting for the drawing awards. I am sure it was disappointing not to be one of the top three representing your school but you just remember you were “in there” causing the judges to be aware of your work and that is a step toward the top.

I am sure you have talent along that line, so keep at it and you will reach your goal. I am proud of your try and I will bet on your winning as a senior. Don’t forget the other subjects along the way.

Lots of love.

Always,

Mumu

Dear Shonnie,

When you are a little older and study Shakespeare in school, you will have to attend one of these Shakespeare Summer Festivals. I hope you are having a wonderful time at camp. Have you been doing a lot of riding?

Lots of love,
Mumu
